Are you mensa material?

You have thirty minutes....starting....NOW!

I scored 23....it's pretty hard, but I missed a couple of easy ones.

Wow

This is one of the most interesting threads I've ever stumbled across!

I learned a lot about "guido" culture...it's truly bizarre...there are 214 pages in the thread, and I've read 50...in fact FARK has a photoshop contest dedicated to these guys right now.

Here is the pic that sparked my interest...in more ways than one ;)

Great little game

Apparently fighter pilots need to last 10 minutes at this game before becoming pilots.

I somehow doubt it, but the game is great fun. See if you can beat 15 seconds. I think it would be easier with a mouse!

Are blogs old and busted?

Is myspace the new hotness?

I feel like I woke up one day and everyone was talking about myspace and leaving me behind. I like to think of myself as a leading edge kind of a guy...I wear baggy jeans...I watch "Lost"...have my ultra hip baggy jeans suddenly become this generation's Zubaz? Has the show "Lost" become this generation's "Twin Peaks"? Am I losing touch with the young and hip?

Seriously...I just surfed around myspace for a half hour...what the heck is going on over there? I don't get it? I feel like an old man sitting out on his porch complaining about rap music. What is the appeal? Is anyone I know doing this? I'm thinking about jouning, but only because I'm ridiculously handsome...I'm certain I'd have tons of myspace friends in no time.

I saw a really cool personalized avatar on myspace. I tried to do one of myself...not nearly as good or fun as the Southpark avatar from before.

I don't know what to make of this.

Am I the only one who thinks this is hilarious?

An intriguing new commenter...

My blog hasn't exactly been on fire lately, in fact it's been pretty dead. It makes me so happy that my dad, Mike, and Richie all took the time to comment - I was surprised that anyone was reading my blog at all! But to tell the truth, I'm most intrigued by comments from a person who goes by the name "Meow". It's intriguing because I don't know any Meows; in fact, to step even further out on the limb, I think Meow is not a real name, but what we in the Blogging industry refer to as a "nickname" . Anyway, I've given Meow some serious consideration. Here are some of the conclusions I've reached:

#1) Meow is female.

#2) Meow is attractive.

#3) Meow is attracted to me (see #1).

#4) Meow is possibly related to me - (which is a little troubling in light of #3).

#5) Meow does NOT live in Kamloops.

Of these criteria, #1 coupled with #2 are obviously the most pleasing. Welcome aboard, Meow! I need more hotties, as this blog has definitely become a sausage party since the big relaunch of '06. Please invite more of your female friends to join my single-digit readership, but no more guys....for now.

It begins again....

(I just read the post...it reads like an uninteresting diary entry...don't read it unless you're bored.)

Today was the first day of the second semester in my MBA program. I know it's early on, but I am dedicating myself to performing very well this semester. I want better than an A average....pretty high goal, but we'll see.

Interesting first class....after class we had a meeting for the founding of an MBA association. A pretty good idea on paper, but I am shaky as to whether we can pull it off. The problem for me is that people moan and complain about things in the program that don't matter to me - The last thing I really want is for the moaners and complainers to go running to the dean, and feel like they are representing all 27 students when they aren't.

So during the discussion, I spoke my mind, and now I feel like a total jerk. I think it's a legitimate concern, but before the idea even gets off the ground and I'm already slamming it. I hate that I'm stressed out about this. Why does it matter to me? There was a suggestions, I had legitimate concerns and I voiced them. Why do I stress out over this. Ugghhhh...

Web-surfing is so 2002...

This post got me into using RSS feeds in addition to browsing. Don't know what they are? Read the post.

It boggles my mind how much more quickly and efficiently I surf the web. If you check a the same websites every day...ie you have a rotation...check CNN, check SI, check ESPN, check your friends blogs, check your stocks, whatever...you can subscribe to the sites and read them all in one place. I had no appreciation for how it would effect the way I surf, but it has enabled me to get more information in a faster time.

Like the author of the post, I use FeedDemon.

Once you switch, you won't know how you surfed without one.

(My blog - like almost all blogspot blogs - is syndicated.)

I'm not surprised

He really is a genius...

New Year's Resolution

Here comes the content!

So, I'm weighing in at an all-time high water mark - 205lbs, and I'm none too happy about it. So my brother, Terry, Bro-in-law, Stephen, and Dad are having a weight loss competition. It will follow the NBC show "The Biggest Loser"'s rules...percentage weight loss, and all of our goals are around 10% loss.

When I mention I want to lose weight to people, they often act incredulous..."YOU!?!? You're skinny!" I think people are lying to me to make me feel better about myself. Here's what I look like these days:

So, here's a question....when you have a flabby friend tell you, "I'm going on a diet." Do you answer with false incredulity - "No...Not YOU!?!" I respond with the truth, "Good for you...you have been looking chunky lately." I certainly won't give them the false impression that they don't need it.

Expect this blog to get a kickstart in the new year.

Yay!
